50% Nursing Home Residents

Studies show that approximately 20 percent of nursing home residents have major depression. 30 percent have significant depressive symptoms.

Environmental Isolation

Nursing home residents are often depressed because of isolation. Grandparents often have a lack of social interaction regardless of where they live. Nursing home residents need interaction to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Reversal of Depression

More than half of residents who had more social interaction reversed their depression. Nursing home residents also have less depression from the anticipation of a visit.

Our mission is to visit, cherish, and celebrate the elderly in our community. Our focus is on nursing home and assisted living facilities. We recognize and honor the life and value of the elderly in our society. We provide them with love and affection with no strings attached.

Get Involved

Saturday, Sept 9, 2023

On the second Saturday of September, our volunteers go into teams to bring gifts for seniors. We collect gifts for our seniors throughout the year. National Grandparents Day is celebrated on the first Sunday after Labor Day.

Like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, we also have a whole day dedicated to our grandparents. Grandparents and children have a special connection that is proven to make grandparents live longer. It also makes children more emotionally resilient. Grandparents Day is an opportunity to treasure that connection.
